Breweries

We   are   spoilt   with   not   one,   but   two   breweries   in   Masham.     Home    of    Theakston’s ,    famous    for    its    Old    Peculier, amongst   others,   and   Black   Sheep ,   a   family   member   of the   Theakston   team.   Both   are   open   to   the   public   for tours.

Local Gardens, Castles and Abbeys

There     are     various     gardens     open     nearby     including Constable    Burton    Hall    Gardens     and    the    Aboretum     at Thorpe   Perrow   and   from   Richard      III   to   Katherine   Parr, there   are   a   number   of   castles   and   abbeys   to   be   visited including   Bolton ,   Middleham    and   Snape    Castles,   as   well as Jervaulx  and Fountains  Abbeys.

Eating Out

We   are   very   spoilt   with   a   number   of   wonderful   places   to eat,   all   within   20   minutes   drive,   including   Vennells    in Masham,   the   Wensleydale   Heifer    at   West   Witton,   the   Blue Lion    at   East   Witton   to   name   but   a   small   few.      The   local pub   in   the   village,   the   Buck   Inn ,   which   is   5   minutes   walk from the Hall,  provides wonderful wholesome food.

Leisure Activities

With     Masham     on     your doorstep,       and       Ripon, Catterick      and      Rudding Park    all    within    an    hour’s drive,    you    are    spoit    for choice   for   a   round   of   golf …… ……   and   with   two   theme parks,     Lightwater     Valley   and   Flamingo   Land ,   there is   something   for   the   young and the old. The    Forbidden    Corner    is not to be missed either!
Being     so     close     to     both     the Yorkshire    Dales    and    the    North Yorkshire      Moors,      there      are literally    hundreds    of    walks    to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
